Optical converters

The latest generation of GISS satellite terminals is characterized by the possibility of equipping the hardware with optical signal converters. Fiber optic modules are used to transmit control information between IDU and ODU (RS-485 & GbE) and Rx and Tx L-Band signals. Thanks to this solution significantly increased range of data transmission is achieved and additionally it is possible to eliminate the usage of the additional amplifier on Rx line. The converters are equipped with LEDs informing about the status of individual signal lines.
