Air traffic management
Polish airspace, one of the largest in Europe, covers over 334,000 km². Every day, approximately 3,000 aircraft fly over the territory of the Republic of Poland, carrying nearly half a million passengers on board. Moreover, these numbers continue to grow steadily. Despite such intensity, civil aviation is considered one of the safest means of transport, which is due, among other factors, to the use of advanced systems, equipment and procedures that meet the highest European and global standards. A key role is played by modern radar, multilateration and communication systems, which enable air traffic controllers to monitor and manage aircraft movements at every stage of their journey – from pre-departure preparations, all the way through to taxiing after landing.
GISS Sp. z o.o. has many years of experience in delivering comprehensive solutions in the field of CNS/ATM air traffic management:
- CNS – Communication, Navigation, Surveillance,
- ATM – Air Traffic Management,
supported by numerous deployments of these systems. Since the company’s establishment, we have been responsible not only for the design and implementation of major infrastructure projects in the area of ILS/DME systems, multilateration systems and radar facilities, but also for solutions using the latest technologies to provide training facilities: Air Traffic Control Tower Simulators. We cooperate with leading CNS/ATM system manufacturers in both the civil and military sectors.
We handle implementations comprehensively: from preparing an offer tailored to the user’s requirements, through the formal process, selection of subcontractors, supervision of the implementation phase, to FAT and SAT testing, approval of project documentation and after-sales support. The results of our Team’s work can be found at airports across Poland (including Chopin Airport) as well as around the world, in Africa and South America. You can find our system portfolio below.
