FO Module

ZKT FO and ACU FO are optical converter modules that transmit Tx and Rx L-Band signals, 10MHz reference signal, 2 Gigabit Ethernet signal and M&C signal in RS485 standard between IDU and ODU blocks of the VSAT terminal system. These modules interoperate directly with the equipped ZKT controller (IDU) and with the antenna positioner (ODU) and communicate with each other via 2 fibres of a single-mode fibre optic cable.

Optical converter modules ensure the transmission of the following signals via optical fibres:

• 2 x Ethernet 1Gb / s,
• RS485 control,
• 10MHz reference signal in relation from IDU to ODU,
• L-Band TX and RX signal within a range of 0.9GHz to 2.4GHz, each ensuring the reproduction of power transmitted on both sides of the converters in ranging from -80dBm to + 10dBm and meeting all the requirements of the satellite system and the SFDR (Spurious Free Dynamic Range), not less than 105dB. The conversion of the L-Band signal is done in an analogue manner with the possibility of adjusting the gain in the Band path.
• conversion of all VSAT terminal signals between IDU and ODU to an optical form,
• optical data transmission up to 10km (in real terms to 2km, due to cable weight),
• optical data transmission using 2 SM fibres,
• intuitive signalling of a fibre optic connection's status with division into RF, RS and ETH links (Normal operation, Warning, Alarm),
• remote control of the optical path amplification through the built-in functions of the ZKT terminal controller,
• possibility of introducing additional fibre optic signals and transmitting them in the IDU - ODU connection through separate optical fibres.
